The true spirit of learning by doing ( gallery )
TNS Beaconhouse held a William Shakespeare play – A Midsummer Night’s Dream in the last week of January at TNS Beaconhouse for the parents and some guests invited by the students who were performing in that play.
The script was written by Ms. Amra Zaidi, Omair Rana a well known teacher, actor in parallel threatre and debator as well as by the students of grade 6 who read and understood the play before opting to perform it.
The students as a part of their project read about Shakespeare and his era and about how he lived in history. They also learned about stage and performance in drama through this project. After a thorough understanding of the language and its deliverance they rehearsed the play to perfection for two weeks and then held it at TNS Beaconhouse Sports Hall where their teachers, relatives and friends attended their 30 minutes long performance.
The play reflected the true spirit of learning by doing – the very essence of TNS as everything was done by the students and teachers including the stage which was immaculately done by the art teacher Ms. Nadia Ghawas and lights and background score which was also done by the teachers.
Mr. Omair Rana who was also there to witness the hard work of the 6 graders of TNS said a few words of appreciation for the performers as concluding remarks. The guests were then treated with refreshments.
